Letter from the CRA Executive Board Chair, Commissioner Donna Fiala
As the Chairman of the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) it is my pleasure to continue to oversee the exciting redevelopment of the Bayshore Gateway Triangle Community Redevelopment Area. Our efforts this past year continues the transition from selling single family lots to housing developers to the construction of new homes. Not only does new housing construction add to the area’s tax base, it also provides the opportunity for new families and couples to become part of the neighborhood fabric, while continuing to provide stability for some of our transitioning neighborhoods.
This year also saw a greater interest from the commercial market. New businesses are moving into the area, along with the expansion of our existing businesses. The migration of new businesses has a direct impact on the community’s tax base. It is terrific that we have a storefront office in the neighborhood to provide easier access for CRA staff to address the benefits of relocating and developing in the Bayshore Gateway neighborhood. It provides a central location for our neighbors to drop in and ask questions, report problems, find solutions, and, of course, make new friends.
Greetings from the CRA Opersations Manager, Jean Jordan
Commissioner Fiala’s review is spot on, people are rushing to invest in our little piece of paradise, but who can blame
them for wanting to take advantage of the
fantastic amenities our community has to
offer. The area has no shortage of bicyclist and pedestrians who enjoy the lighted pathways, beautiful landscaped corridors and our famous green bike lanes. Boaters swarm to launch their boats at Bayview Park and families love to gather at the beautiful Sugden Regional Park and eat at our great local restaurants. Over 217,000 people traveled down our streets to visit the Botanical Gardens. Make sure you visit our new and improved website at Bayshorecra. com for the latest updates on what’s happening in the community or stop in and visit us at 3570 Bayshore Drive
