In 2020, the Collier County Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) purchased the 1.84 acre property at the corner of Thomasson Drive and Bayshore Drive. The site commonly referred to as “Del’s Corner” in recognition of the late Del Ackerman for his many years of community service and for operating Del’s 24-hour store for more than 50 years. The CRA purchased the three parcels (Folio #52600120008, 52600080009, and 52600160000) to facilitate redevelopment of this signature intersection. On December 15, 2022, the CRA received an unsolicited proposal to purchase Del’s Corner. On April 11, 2023, the CRA Board directed staff to publish a 30-Day Notice as a matter of good public policy and is required by law to consider alternative proposals concerning the disposition of the subject property, and redevelopment proposals involving lands owned by and controlled by the Agency.
On April 21, 2023, notice to consider disposition of the property was published in the Naples Daily News click the link to view, Invitation for Proposals. The Agency encourages proposals from any interested and capable persons. A responsible proposer must provide a written proposal on or before 5:00pm EST on Monday, May 21, 2023, to the Bayshore Gateway Triangle Community Redevelopment Agency (BTCRA) Office, 3299 Tamiami Trail East, Building F, Suite 103, Naples, Florida 34112.
